So What is Gynaecology?

Gynaecology is the specialised medical and surgical care of the female reproductive system and broader aspects of women's health. While there is significant overlap with obstetrics, gynaecology generally focuses on the care of women who are not pregnant. Your gynaecologist is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of conditions affecting the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries and vagina.

Women may be referred to a gynaecologist by their GP or another specialist for a wide range of concerns, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, menopause management, cervical abnormalities, contraception and pelvic floor disorders.

At Women's Specialist Group, our experienced gynaecologists provide evidence-based, compassionate care tailored to each woman's individual needs. We combine the latest clinical knowledge with a patient-centred approach and work closely with other healthcare professionals when multidisciplinary care is required, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated treatment.
