Paediatric Adolescent Gynaecology

Gynaecological concerns in childhood and adolescence can feel emotional, confusing or difficult to discuss. Puberty brings many physical, hormonal and emotional changes, and it is normal for young people and families to have questions during this stage of life.

At Women’s Specialist Group, our team provides specialist paediatric and adolescent gynaecology care in a calm and respectful setting. Consultations are centred around listening, assessment and clear information, helping young people and families understand symptoms, development and any suitable treatment options.

Understanding, Professional Care for Young People

It can feel unfamiliar or even worrying when a child or teenager needs to see a gynaecologist. At Women’s Specialist Group we support young people through the physical and hormonal changes that happen as they grow, particularly around puberty and menstrual health.

We have a lot of families that seek help for painful, heavy or irregular periods, delayed periods, pelvic pain or vulval and vaginal symptoms. Some of our young adults may also need care for conditions like PMOS (previously known as PCOS) or other medical conditions affecting menstruation, hormones and physical changes.

Our team takes a gentle, age-appropriate approach, helping young people and families feel comfortable, informed and supported.

Our experienced gynaecologists possess the most up to date clinical knowledge and skills. We also work collaboratively with other specialists when required.

When to See a Women’s Specialist

Early assessment can help identify what may be causing symptoms and guide management. Seeing a specialist can also give young people and families reassurance, answers and an understanding about what care options are available.

Young people may benefit from seeing a gynaecologist if they are experiencing symptoms.
